On a day where the Nasdaq was down 1.81%, Yahoo Inc share price gained 21 cents, or 0.63%, to end at $33.38. Yahoo! is scheduled to report Q2 earnings Tuesday, July 18th next week.
After launching Live Search on Alltheweb, Firefox 2.0 beta 1 now also has a "Live Search suggestions from Yahoo (YHOO) in the Firefox browser search box," according to Yahoo! search blog!. Live Search gives suggestions in the form of drop-down lists as the user types their queries.
Other Firefox and Yahoo! cooperations already include the Yahoo! Toolbar for Mozilla Firefox and the del.icio.us Firefox extension.
Firefox has had a very strong relationship with Google (GOOG) and Firefox usage has been growing - it is nearly 16% in the U.S. according to OneStat. The more Yahoo! can participate, the better.
On another, rather curious note, Search Engine Roundtable found that a few websites are receiving AdWords referrals from Yahoo! emails. Needless to say, Google's interest has been piqued.
